Gel Pedicure in Alicante

Gel on toenails outlasts gel on hands by a wide margin — often four to six weeks. For a city where open shoes are standard eight months of the year, that arithmetic works out well.

Gel polish on toenails behaves very differently from gel on fingernails. Toenails grow roughly half as fast, take far less impact, and spend most of their time in shoes rather than in hot water and detergent. The practical consequence is that a gel pedicure commonly lasts four to six weeks — which usually means one appointment covers the interval until your next pedicure anyway.

In Alicante that is worth something. Sandals from March to October means toes are visible most of the year, and chipped regular polish on the third day of a beach week is a familiar annoyance.

Two options, and the honest difference

All toes — €55 (120 minutes)

The full hardware pedicure — callus and hard skin reduction, nail groove work, cuticle, shaping — followed by gel coating on all ten toenails.

Toes only — €45 (90 minutes)

The same pedicure, with coating applied to the visible toes rather than all ten. This is not a lesser service — it is a sensible choice, and a lot of clients pick it deliberately. The little toenails are frequently small, slightly curved, or partly hidden, and colour there adds little while adding time.

If you are unsure, book the toes-only option first. Upgrading next time is easy; the reverse feels like paying for something you did not need.

Why coating goes on last, and why the pedicure matters more

It is tempting to think of this as "a pedicure plus colour", but the pedicure is doing most of the work. Coating a toenail that still has cuticle tissue on the plate produces the same lifting you get on hands, just more slowly. The nail groove in particular has to be properly cleared — that is where pressure and discomfort in shoes originates, and it is also where coating fails first if it is skipped.

The whole 120 minutes is booked for this reason. The colour itself takes about fifteen of them.

Come with dry feet and no polish. No bath or long shower immediately beforehand. Hardware pedicure works on dry skin, and soaked tissue swells, which reduces precision. If you have gel on already, mention it when booking so removal time is added.

Preparation and aftercare

Who books it

Mostly people who want one appointment to cover a stretch of time — before a summer, before a trip, or simply because a six-week interval fits their calendar better than a three-week one. It is also the more practical choice for anyone who swims regularly, since gel is unaffected by pool or sea water in a way regular polish is not.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a gel pedicure in Alicante?

€55 for all toes, €45 for the visible toes only. Both include the full hardware pedicure, not just the coating.

How long does it last?

Commonly four to six weeks — considerably longer than gel on hands, because toenails grow slower and take less impact.

What does 'toes only' mean?

Coating on the visible toenails rather than all ten. The pedicure itself is identical, and many clients choose it deliberately.

How long is the appointment?

120 minutes for all toes, 90 minutes for toes only. Most of it is the pedicure.

Should I soak my feet first?

No — dry technique needs dry skin.

Can I swim with it?

Yes. Gel is unaffected by pool or sea water once cured.
